Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet neighborhood located in The West Island of Montreal is what you might call a "sleepy" spot. People who aren't familiar with about the place mistakenly think that"the" West Island extends westward from Montreal. Actually it is the West Island includes everything westward of Lachine. Lachine. Amanda Brugel was born there although her time was not long in the city. Brugel had a childhood in Courtice close to Oshawa located in Ontario. She aspired to be a professional dancer, but because of a huge increase in her height, she surpassed all of her dance partners. According to an article by Toronto Star, she revealed that, in her heels, she stood at 6'1 inches tall. When I grew out of my male partners, I quit. The former dancers usually turn to acting, and Brugel wasn't an exception. The drama instructor at her high school helped push to Brugel into the direction she wanted to go in. It was her teacher who advised her to audition to play the character of Anne in the school's annual production. After some trial and error it, she was cast as the lead on stage in Anne of Green Gables. This Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she took classes in theatre and was awarded an Associate's Degree in Fine Arts in the year 2000. For the last twenty years the career of Brugel has seen her appear in over 60 TV and film productions. Her most famous role was that of Rita (shown in the video below) on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian on the season 1 cast of the show and was only seen on occasion, was the only Canadian.
