Ashanti Shequoiya was Douglas is famously known as Ashanti. Ashanti was birthed October 13 1980, on the shores of Glen Cove New York United States. She is a songwriter, singer and actress from the United States. Ashanti, a teenage actor and singer American, has been signed to Murder Inc. Records to record in 2002. That same year, she was featured in Fat Joe's What's Luv? track and Ja Rule's Always on Time track, both of which became massive hits. In the year she debuted her debut single the single, What's Luv, at number two at the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and Foolish at the top spot and Foolish being her first single, she was the first female to reach this feat.
